The City Renewal Authority is an ACT Government department that shapes central Canberra as a vibrant place to live, work, explore and enjoy. Their activities are multi-faceted, and their actions are shaping Canberra to be a better place. We were engaged in completing a strategic evolution of the brand to better connect with the public and other stakeholders.
The design language celebrates the process of renewal and building via a dynamic and robust design system based around a family of shapes that relate symbolically back to aspects of Canberra (square, circle, heart and hexagon).
The project involved a strategic messaging framework, development of personality and an overhaul of the visual design system, all articulated in a new set of guidelines, robust enough for implementation by the Central Renewal Authority and its external suppliers.
